Take the opportunity to learn how to implement the EDU-Therapeutics learning system and receive a Certificate in Dyslexia Remediation. This training will enable you to effectively resolve the learning challenges your students from ages 4 - 94 experience. You will spend the first day learning about brain and neurotransmitter function. This will provide the opportunity to understand how diet choices benefit attention focus and organization skills. You will learn to think in terms of activating brain pathways as you design programs to resolve learning inefficiencies and learn about delays in response speed which impact upon attention and learning. On the second day of training the focus is on development of sensory skills including memory (visual, auditory and motor), fine motor, spatial understanding, and listening effectively. Each of the learning areas features assessment guidelines using the CAB-Blue or other instruments, specific techniques to resolve inefficiencies, and materials.
The third day of training teaches implementation of executive function skills. These provide an essential part of the resolution of learning issues and progression to becoming an independent learner. When sensory skills such as memory or attention develop after the expected age, the automatic learning of executive function skills does not automatically occur ~ they have to be taught. These include the use of visualization, re-verbalization, inner language skills, organization techniques, and study skills. The fourth day of training features techniques to implement with the reading and other materials you already possess. The techniques will benefit reading, comprehension, spelling and retention of number facts. In addition, you will learn to administer and interpret the Receptive Expressive Observation, memory test, an effective measurement device to benefit student profile development. Participants may gain certification status by completing a case study using the assessment instruments presented in the class. Past participants are welcome to re-attend any or all of the training days at a $50 a day fee when there is available space. We encourage certificated participants to become Trainers in EDU-Therapeutics. Trainers receive the power-point presentation and narrative to offer their own training programs. A bonus for participants is the wonderful friendships which develop during the four day experience. The opportunity to share and benefit from other professionals and parents experience and the energy generated by questions, challenges and new ways of looking at learning is priceless. Learning Time, Inc. is registered with the Bureau of Private Post-Secondary Schools and authorized by the Board of Behavioral Sciences and Speech Language Pathology and Audiology Board to issue CEU’s for licensees. The fee for participation is $1297. Required EDU-Therapeutics materials to support program implementation are included.
